Categories for nominations
Clive Hamilton Award for Outstanding Volunteer
- An individual who has made an outstanding voluntary contribution to sport as an administrator, official or coach over a minimum of 5 years
- Has helped raise participation and enjoyment of sport in their community
- Widened access to sport and/or physical activity through their volunteering
- Has built strong relationships and links with schools, clubs and community organisations
- Is an inspiration and positive role model for participants and their peers.
Mayors Award for Sporting Achievement
- An individual, of any age, who has shown considerable commitment, motivation and determination in their chosen sport
- Has displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement during 2010
- An inspiration and positive role model for other participants and peers
Disability Sports Person of the Year
- An individual of any age who has shown considerable commitment, motivation and determination in there chosen sport
- Has displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement during 2010
- Is an inspiration and positive role model for other participants and peers
- Has acted as a role model for disability sport
Sports Club of the Year
- A club that has achieved success or competed at a consistently high level throughout the year
- Demonstrates fair play and good sporting attitude throughout
- Demonstrated successful partnership working with local schools and community organisations
- Evidence of committed development through coach education and other training opportunities
- Has made an impact on their sport by increase levels of participation in the community
Sports Coach of the Year
- A progressive, encouraging attitude that has inspired, guided and influenced progression in their sport
- Is a positive role model for their participants and other coaches/leaders
- Holds a minimum National Governing Body qualification at Level 2 or higher in their sport
- Has made an impact on their sport by improving individuals or a teams skill level and/or performance
